Role:Classroom AssistantPupils:Learning DifficultiesYears:1-11 (KS1-KS4)Length:Term Time ongoingLocation:PR5 - PrestonThe RoleWorkingwithinaSpecialist School for students aged 4 to 16years with varying levels of learning Difficulties, Vida Education are looking to appoint a Classroom Assistant.The cater for children who are experiencing learning difficulties. All the children have an Education, Health, Care Plan (EHCP). Children attendingthe school are generally from the South Ribble, Chorley, Preston and West Lancashire areas. Pupils have access to Speech Therapy support on-site as required by their EHCP as well as updated assessments fromthe schools Local Authority Educational Psychologist.Under the general supervision and direction of the Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and implementing learning activities for individuals and groups. You will also be responsible for monitoring of pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher, establishing supportive and constructive relationships with pupils’ parents and carers. You will need to becompassionate and empathetic in your approach to caring for young people. As a Teaching Assistant you will also be expected to provide personal care and also support through a variety of classroom-based activities and lessons including sensory learning and outdoor play.Requirements- Prior experienceworkingwithin a SEN setting- Enhanced DBS- SatisfactoryreferencesWorking with Vida Education- Continual support and training if required- Competitive rates of pay- Single point of contact with your dedicated consultant- APSCo registeredWe are an experienced team who specialise in placing secondary teachers, primary teachers, cover supervisors, teaching assistants and school admin and clerical staff into positions across Cumbria and Lancashire.As you are working with children, safeguarding and child welfare is paramount and an Enhanced DBS is required for the role, this can be discussed further upon application.We look forward to hearing from you very soon!
