Job Description

South Norfolk and Broadland Council have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications Officer to join the team. This role will bebased at either of our offices; South Norfolk House, Long Stratton or Thorpe Lodge, Norwich. Continuous improvement is also vital and our employees challenge themselves to develop new and innovative ways to improve the services that make a real difference to people’s lives.Responsibilities of our Senior Communications Officer:- You will support the promotion of the Councils through proactive use of a range of media channels, including social media to drive engagement.- You will lead on the development and delivery of an impactful and engaging internal communications strategy to build our one team culture.- You will work closely with Members and senior leaders, and, where necessary, offer them support in their dealings with the media.- You will act as a communications advisor on key council projects, ensuring the organisations gets the strategic and tactical advice and support required, tracking outcomes and Return on Investment.What we’re looking for in our Senior Communications Officer:You will have proven experience in communications/PR/internal communications or marketing and be an engaging communicator with excellent writing skills and innovative ideas on how to get an organisation’s messages across both externally and internally. You will be passionate about culture change and creating interesting and engaging internal communication campaigns.
