Job Description

Are you an ambitious, forward-thinking individual, with experience in developing in embedded and non-embedded C++ Would you like to have the opportunity to grow and be able to become the key individual in Software within the companyI am working with a innovative medical device start-up looking for a software engineer to join their thriving company. This medical device company focus on the next generation of innovative endoscopic medical devices. The company are developing a new visualisationplatform for endoscopic surgery.The vision of the Company is to be the market leader in the research, engineering, design, development, and marketing of advanced visualisation devices, which improve the standardisation, safety, and surgical outcomes of minimally invasive surgical procedures.Responsibilities

  • Working within a small team to develop software specifications and test protocols.
  • Delivering high-quality production-ready code, according to specifications.
  • Delivering high-quality design documentation according to medical regulations.
  • Performing tests, code reviews, and other quality assurance tasks.
  • Fast prototyping in support of proof-of-principle activities.
  • Debugging and fixing issues found from field testing and deployments.
  • Contributing to role-specific R&D planning.
  • Working with management on managing and developing intellectual property.
  • Working with corporate partners, as determined by the executive management.
Essential Requirements
  • Hold a first or upper second-class degree in a relevant subject such as software engineering or computer science.
  • Excellent knowledge of C++ development, under both Windows and Linux.
  • Experience of working under IEC 62304, including testing and verification activities.
Desirable Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with GTK, OpenGL and CMake.
  • Experience designing and writing multi-threaded applications.
  • Experience developing hardware APIs and debugging at the driver level.
  • Experience of developing graphical user interfaces and, ideally, IEC 62366.
  • Experience of developing code that runs in real-time.
  • A basic knowledge of clinical and/or biomedical engineering.
