What you will be doing: As the Corporate Litigation Counsel you will manage legal matters pertaining to pending and threatened litigation that involve FIS as well as other matters and disputes that may become the subject of litigation. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing outside counsels handling of pending and threatened litigation.
• Provide legal advice on litigation avoidance, dispute resolution, and risk assessments to a wide range of business units and in-house clients.
• Prepare legal drafts, opinions and various documents in connection with litigation and litigation reporting.
• Negotiate and draft tolling, non-disclosure, confidentiality and settlement agreements; draft and review complaints, answers, and other litigation pleadings and papers.
• Provide advice regarding the interpretation of contract provisions and other business law issues.
• Perform legal research and analysis in preparation for litigation or other legal actions. Examine pertinent information, e.g., files, emails, interview notes, and precedent to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting litigation.
• Review legal data and advise organisation on appropriate legal action to be taken.
• Coordinate legal matters handled by outside counsel.
• Other related duties assigned as needed.

• Demonstrated litigation experience in general and corporate matters.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to assess litigation risks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to be appropriate to the audience and avoid technical jargon.
• Ability to effectively deal with issues that are complex, confidential and sensitive in nature.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and time management skills.
• Effective team building, coaching and persuasion skills.
• Intermediate to advanced negotiation skills with regard to complex issues and data.

Added bonus if you have:

• Experience in other European jurisdictions.
• Financial Services or Information Technology industry experience.
