We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to join our digital team. You will work on both back-end and front-end development, but specialize in creating WordPress Themes. You should be familiar with PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. We expect you to have a strong understanding of the latest industry trends with regards to WordPress and other content management systems. You should also have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and a passion for being part of a cutting-edge team. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.Key responsibilities Design and implement new features and functionality using WordPress. Establish and oversee website architecture. Ensure high-performance and availability of all technical aspects of the CMS. Help formulate an effective and responsive design into a working theme. Build websites using latest front-end and back-end technologies. Work closely with both design and editorial teams to achieve best possible results from conception (new website) to delivery. Self-motivated, and able to work in a team environment.RequirementsThe ideal candidate should have: Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery. Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications. Experience designing and developing responsive design websites. Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc. Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers. Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages. Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML). Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial).
