Job Description

Windows System Administrator - AD/GPO/VMware sought by leading telecommunications company based in the city of London.**Inside IR35 - Umbrella. Hybrid working - 2/3 days a week onsite**Must be able to pass BPSS check.Key responsibilities of the position:

  • General maintenance of Windows (Essential) and RHEL (Beneficial) machines - application installations/upgrades, performance monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Co-ordinated and timely Installation of MS Updates (patches are released monthly)
  • Management of users in Microsoft Active Directory
  • Management of GPOs (Good Policy Objects) Perform maintenance activities on all hardware Microsoft Windows servers and workstations.
  • Take responsibility for the SCC periodic data backups, monitoring the system performance/health.
QUALIFICATIONSEssential knowledge and skills:
  • Windows Server (2019,2016, 2012), Windows 7/10 desktop.
  • Microsoft Active Directory and GPO experience.
  • VMware vSphere ESX 6.5
  • Experience with RHEL (Not essential - but highly beneficial)
  • Some experience of HP/Dell hardware.
  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP networks, including routing equipment, plus general principles of data communications;
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
Desirable knowledge and skills:
  • Experience with:
    • HP hardware
    • RAID Arrays
    • EMC Storage solutions
  • ServiceNow
  • BeyondTrust appliances
  • Nagios XI
  • Smart hands backup solution
