The Associate position is in the WCR Technology, Media and Telecom ("TMT") team which covers EMEA corporate clients across a broad range of industries and products. The role is based in London, where certain other Credit colleagues are based. The WCR teamworks closely with business partners across the region in J.P. Morgans Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), including Debt Capital Markets, Acquisition and Leveraged Finance, M&A, Corporate Bank, Markets, Treasury Services and Trade Finance. In addition, wework closely with Corporate Client Banking and Specialized Industries (CCBSI) as it continues to build out its franchise in EMEA. Given the broad sector and client base covered, the team is focused on performing credit analysis on Non-Investment Grade clientsas well as structuring and documenting a wide variety of credit products. Key products include: Acquisition debt financings and Leverage buy outs; High Yield Bonds (and bridges thereto); Syndicated and bilateral loans; Corporate derivatives (e.g. FX, interestrate, commodities, inflation); Trade finance including LCs, supply chain finance; Treasury service products including cash management. More specifically the role will require: Strong credit and transaction management skills. The candidate would be expectedto lead in-depth due diligence processes and to coordinate and produce concise and insightful credit memos with clear recommendations, which will be the basis on which credit decisions are made. Strong working knowledge of loan documentation, including LMAstandard and leveraged finance documents and key ISDA/CSA documentation. Good understanding of US-style leveraged loan documentation would be an advantage. Close working relationships with a variety of areas within the CIB and CCBSI, including Coverage/GCB/CB,product specialists (DCM, ALF, Trade, TSS), Markets (Derivative Sales), Capital Markets and M&A. Regular liaison with other credit officers in EMEA and North America. Prime responsibility for the pro-active management of exposure to a portfolio of names andindustry sectors. Understanding of banking and risk policies and related interactions with various stakeholders (including regulators and auditors). Coaching and development of junior team members, both on the job and through trainings. Key Skills and Experience: Must demonstrate first rate analytical and credit skills/judgment and have a hands on approach to leading due diligence on credit and structural matters. First rate project management skills and demonstrable end-to-end ownership of work/projects. Be ableto establish credibility and trust with clients, business partners, and credit officers, and to partner with them effectively. Proven coaching and development ability. Previous experience of reviewing and commenting on loan documentation/core corporate derivativedocumentation. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Knowledge of any main European language (such as German / Italian / French / Spanish, in addition to English) would be an advantage. Self-starting, result-driven, multi-tasking, risk-rewardmindset and adaptable to change given the dynamic nature and timing of work-flow. Relevant experience (at least 3-4 years) in roles with relevant skills for this position.
