Job Description

The words chef and social life dont often go together. Well, not this time. With this job you you will only work 15 hours over the weekends, and you will not be under insane pressure and stress.As you join the team at Bromley Road in Catford, you will enjoy preparing and cooking lunch and dinner for staff and service users. You will also provide guidance and training to your peers.Its a calm and pleasurable working environment, where youll be able to manage your workload and enjoy creating meals. And not stressed to the hilt. Job Role - Weekend ChefLocation - Catford, South LondonSalary - £18,135 pro rotaHours - 15, Part-Time Your responsibilities:

  • Providing well balanced, nutritional, varied and well-presented meals.
  • Preparing, where necessary transporting, and serving meals to patients, residents, staff and any outside agencies as instructed by the Head Chef / Senior Cook.
  • Assisting the Head Chef / Senior Cook in the maintaining of consumable and non-consumable stock.
  • Ensuring that all stock is used in strict rotation.
  • Maintaining the kitchen and ancillary areas to a high standard of hygiene.
  • To be successful in this role, youll need:
  • 2 years experience in the catering industry
  • To be a team player
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as the sole weekend cook in a small unit
  • Good communication skills
  • Have a food hygiene certificate but this not essential as training will be given.
  • Where you will be workingLocation: 84-86 Bromley Road, Catford, London, SE6 2URYou will work at Bromley Road, a rehabilitation service for men and women with enduring mental health issues, complex needs and complicated addiction problems. People in your care may include those who have a forensic history and those who are detained under the Mental Health Act.You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to deliver positive support and risk reduction strategies, as well as providing opportunities for social inclusion and building skills for independent living.The team at Bromley Road work alongside service users, supporting them in their therapy programmes, building coping strategies and increasing their life skills. The aim at Bromley Road is to keep the length of stay to a minimum by planning discharge at the point of admission. Communication with families and valued support networks are encouraged by an experienced and values led staff team.What you will get
