Job Description

Waking Nights Support WorkerWandsworthNovember StartTimeplan is currently working with an outstanding Special Needs school in Wandsworth. They are recruiting an experienced Waking Nights support worker. This is a long-term requirement, working hours will be 10.30pm - 8.30am, 5 days per week.The school caters for children aged 10-19 years, with EHCPs for hearing impairments, SLCN and complex needs. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills. The school has a wealth of resources for both staff and students to succeed.As a Waking Nights Support worker responsibilities will include supporting the young people in the night if needed. You will support a student who has both visual and hearing impairments. The student does not know BSL, however the school would like someone who can use BSL or Makaton. You will have strong communication skills. You will be required to complete personal care and feeding, PEG feeding training is a must. The student presents challenging/distressed behaviour, therefore they require someone who is calm and patient.This role would suit someone who has care or support work experience with young adults.Person Specification (Essential):
