Job Description

VP of Marketing£80,000-£110,000+ per annum basicOur client is a growing sports and betting company who are recruiting for a VP of Marketing. This is a key role they will oversee the entire marketing function and manage the team that is divided into two parts. Our client is a high-growth start-up with secured funding and the ability to be able to work strategically at a senior level but still have the "hands-on" approach and scale up drive will be key to the success of this role.Key responsibilities:

  • Managing the wider in-house team including the Head of Creative Results who will be supported by Designers, Content/Copy writers, Head of Marketing and Customer Acquisition Channel Managers and their Support Executives.
  • Overseeing Media Planning, Buying and Optimisation
  • Securing agreed ROAS goals by investing in marketing for New Player Acquisition in the most efficient manner and scaled to meet and exceed the business plan as agreed with the business.
  • Overall Marketing P/L responsible to the CMO who holds budget and P/L .
  • Deputise on behalf of CMO when relevant freeing up time for CMO to invest in strategy time and business needs related to a PLC business.
  • Steer the deployment and Return On Investment on a 7-8 figure annual marketing budget via the performance marketing function who will own the budget and P/L for media acquisition and return.
  • Ensure strong cross functional representation and relationship across Product Finance and Operations to maximise opportunity for the business success
  • Secure awards as needed for the efforts of the business in the marketing domain
    • Experience and background required
  • Have worked at VP/Director level previously for a high-growth betting/gaming/online platform
  • Immense drive hunger and self-motivating with a highly entrepreneurial spirit and experience with rapid growth scale-up businesses
  • Able to multitask well and when pulled in many directions can move towards practical goals vs being pulled away from delivery of KPIs
  • Highly personable and a strong negotiator and mediator between our client and its tipsters and affiliates.
  • Experience working across different platforms with a demonstrable background on mobile applications (iOS / Android) and Mobile Web
  • Available for frequent travel
  • Strong experience of managing acquisition media channels with 7 figure ++ monthly budgets
  • International Experience
  • Experience of launching products and brands into new markets
    • Basic Qualifications
  • Currently a Marketing Director/CMO
  • 15+ years experience working as a Senior or Head of Marketing role
  • 4years + Sportsbook experience
  • 2-5 years +experience of marketing to a North American audience
  • Strong industry knowhow and network of partner contacts in Sportsbook/iGaming ("big black book of contacts").
  • Knowledge of/experience in a range of commercial models; including but not limited to Cost Per Install/Event/Deposit, revenue share, tenancy deals
  • Educated to degree level
  • Knowledgeable of a wide range of sports in the context of betting
