VP Investment Strategy, ESG, Asset Management Firm We are now working with a major asset management firm, who are looking to recruit a VP Investment Strategy to focus on ESG issues. In this key role, the VP will be responsible for shaping and driving theESG agenda for the firmDeveloping and co-ordinating the firms approach to understanding climate risks and opportunities in line with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and ensure annual reporting meets TCFD and PRI requirements. Leading and developing climate change strategy and policy including Science Based Target (SBT), net zero strategy and oversee data and reporting on climate change including the PRI.Assisting the Group Sustainability team to provide responses to Investorson climate change queries i.e. Climate Change CDP response, and other ESG rating questionnaires.Keeping informed of developments across the wider climate change agendas, including developments in offsetting and carbon pricing. Climate Investment Due Diligence Assisting Portfolio Managers / Investment teams across equites, fixed income and alternatives to undertake due diligence on climate change and carbon related issues and understand key risks and to provide robust evidence of climate integration i.e. scenarioanalysis.Working collaboratively with colleagues in the Responsible Investment Team to develop and deliver Sustainable Investing as part of the broader ESG and due diligence approach.Participating in various industry bodies, such as the Principles forResponsible Investment (PRI), Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC), Carbon Action 100 and Race to Zero.Development of specialist material (papers, reports, presentational material) to support the firms position and messaging around climaterisk for internal and external engagement including attendance at client meetings.Supporting new business development by providing subject matter expert input to tender activity. This may also involve presenting to prospective and existing clients.Raisingthe profile of the climate change programme and drive communications into the business, for colleague and client audiences.Contributing to the shaping and implementation of the Sustainable Investing strategy, including short and medium-term priorities,measures, delivery roadmap and effective translation, via colleague engagement and communication, to agreed ownership within the broader organisation.SME for the delivery of reporting / data change, assessing impact on business, defining and accepting businessrequirements and embedding changes.Participating in / leading as appropriate in the relevant internal forums They are very interested in meeting people who will have a background as follows: Candidates will have preferably gained experience of carbon managementand strategy experience preferably within an investment manager.At least eight years of professional experience in a relevant asset management, Sustainable / Responsible Investing team.Practical knowledge and experience of addressing climate change considerations,such as TCFD governance and reporting requirements and preferably climate scenario modelling and analysis.A solid/ good understanding of the legislative framework for Investment Managers on climate change.Experience of delivering PRI climate change reporting. Experience of carbon target setting approaches & best practice. Understanding of net-zero approaches (including SBT & offsetting).Experience supporting company responses to external frameworks such as CDP.
