With engaging stories to tell, theres always something to share with our visitors, and it will be you job to make sure were doing that all year round.What its like to work hereThis role will be working within the West Cornwall portfolio across the Tin Coast and at Godolphin.The Tin Coast is a stretch of West Penwith coastline between Pendeen and St. Just. Part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, mining here changed the world. There were once thousands of mine shafts and hundreds of steaming engine houses here, with mines even stretching out for up to a mile under the sea. Now nature plays a leading role with peregrine falcons and Cornish choughs both nesting in the cliffs and many other species finding a habitat here.Godolphin is an ancient and atmospheric estate with a medieval garden and historic house where visitors can travel back in time as they wander around the 16th-century garden, one of the most important historic gardens in Europe. The wider estate boasts Leeds engine house and stack, the remains of the Godolphin family mine and on the south-westerly reaches of the estate our visitors can breathe in some of the best views in Cornwall looking out over St Ives Bay to the north and the famous St Michaels Mount to the southWhat youll be doingAs a Visitor Experience Officer, youll be responsible for supporting the delivery of effective interpretation and engaging programming to deliver a year round offering of events at properties in the West Cornwall portfolio. Working alongside the Visitor Experience and Operations Managers, youll support engaging and meaningful interpretation that can teach, move and inspire our visitors.Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place, youll work with the visitor welcome team to link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do. Youll deliver high standards of presentation at property, and ensure all our communications with our visitors, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property are clear and consistent. Ensuring the good presentation of our visitor facilities at Botallack and Cape Cornwall will be an important element of the role. A particular focus at Botallack this summer will be the launch of new augmented reality interpretation of the mining landscape and ensuring that visitors are aware of the opportunities to use the equipment. As a champion of exceptional visitor experiences, youll join a high performing team and will regularly be involved in the duty management rota helping run the visitor operation.Please also read the full role profile attached to this advert.Who were looking forIts a significant role at a busy property and we need someone who can take on a challenge.
