Job Description

Commitments made to reduce greenhouse gas emissions require gigantic industrial investments as well as the development of many new technologies, all of which are crucially dependent on the availability of critical minerals. EV batteries are essentiallymade of lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese and graphite. Electric vehicles need more copper than combustion engines, wind turbines are mainly built with steel and solar photovoltaic panels, made of aluminium. These minerals also need to be transformed in industrialprocess that have to be decarbonised. SGs Batteries Mining and Industries ("BMI") team is delivering tailor-made financing solutions to raise capital for large scale international investments along the value chain of minerals, from mining to their industrial transformation and more particularlyin the decarbonisation and re-onshoring of industrial processes. SG has become a market leader in advising mining and industrial companies and projects, and more especially in industrial sectors, that are critical to the energy transition such as battery gigafactoriesand green metal production. This is a global activity with close to 50 front officers operating out of London, Paris, New York, Toronto, Sidney and Hong Kong. The team also holds client relationship management responsibilities in the sector and is also ableto arrange and underwrite debt financing for its clients and their projects. The London- based BMI team has a regional specialisation on UK, Middle East and Africa. However it is part of a wider BMI CEMEA Team which, together with the BMI Paris team jointly originates, executes and monitors transactions the CEMEA region. Tasks and responsibilities:• Supporting transactions execution and monitoring • Supporting the development and management of client relationships in the EMEA region • Supporting the business development in new sectors • Supporting the identification and addressing of clients needs • Supporting monitoring and reporting about transactions, portfolio and teams performance • Supporting colleagues from other MMI locations to provide best-in-class advisory to the client base and to contribute to the global franchise • Role must be performed in accordance with the conduct and compliance rules inherent to the business. To be eligible for this visa used for VIE, you will need to provide proof of the following: - Graduated within the last 2 years - English level with a certificate (IELTS - min 6/9 or TOEIC - min 605/990) - Proof of support Funds (min £ 1 270) The VIE assignment post BrexitThis VIE in London is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. Bear in mind this visa process is new and could take from 6 to 12 weeks and delay the assignment start date. The VIE will last 12 months. No VIE extension will be possible in the UK due to the visa, but it could be extended for a 2nd year in another country within the Group depending on opportunities. The VIE is a specific contract, under Business Frances eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.
