Job Description

The CompanyOne of the Worlds largest Logistics and supply chain companies operating across over 100 counties and territories worldwide who are one of the regions largest employers with a fantastic reputation for career progression and long service throughoutthe organisation.Due to a significant increase in work volumes and on the back of the companys growth, the customer is now seeking a Mechanic to join the team at their North London Facility on a Contract Basis.The roleWorking under the Workshop Manager, a Vehicle Mechanic, is required to join the business to be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of their large fleet at their Camden Facility.Flexible Shifts: 2 shift rotation, days, afternoons or eveningsYou will take responsibility for:

  • Maintaining, servicing, and repairing large fleets varying from light vans through to HGVs and trailers.
  • To carry out MOT inspections and testing on large fleet
  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out regular maintenance inspections
  • To carry out maintenance scheduling, taking responsibility for stock control and generating reports
What you needIt is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a vehicle mechanic, ideally with commercial vehicles
  • C&G/NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent in mechanics or similar field
  • Must have a full UK driving license.
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
  • Experience of working with large commercial vehicles / HGVs
  • Holding a 7.5 tonne or C1 license would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience of working as a mechanic in a logistics/warehouse/ manufacturing background or within a large fleet
