Job Description

Description:We are seeking a VAT Manager to join our small but expanding VAT Consultancy team. This team of specialists provides expert advice on VAT to a diverse range of clients including corporate entities, charities, and individuals. The role involves advising on variousaspects of VAT such as income liability, deductions, property transactions, business acquisitions, and HMRC dispute resolutions, including tribunal appeals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review complex VAT returns, including handling partial exemptions and business/non-business apportionments.
  • Conduct VAT health checks, prepare voluntary declarations, and generate detailed reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Provide advice on VAT liability queries, transaction treatments, contract reviews, and property-related issues.
  • Respond to ad hoc VAT questions from clients and team members.
  • Contribute to the teams publications and undertake training sessions for clients and staff.
  • Identify new business opportunities from existing and prospective clients and explore cross-selling potential.
Candidate Profile:
  • CTA and/or AIIT qualification or equivalent experience in VAT consultancy.
  • Proven experience in planning and structuring VAT advice for transactions.
  • Skilled in managing diverse VAT issues in the corporate sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex VAT issues for clients, colleagues, and regulatory bodies.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, practical approach, and a commitment to professional development.
