Job Description

We are recruiting for an entry level Energy Underwriting Assistant vacancy on behalf of a prestigious, growing and top performing Lloyds Syndicate.Our clients Upstream Energy Underwriting Team offers first-party and third-party coverage in the oil and gas sector.Their clients are typically operating and non-operating partners with financial interests in onshore and offshore exploration and production assets. These include independent or privately owned institutions, multinational oil companies, midstream operatorsand state-owned entities.All risk policies are available for worldwide facilities and activities during both construction and operational phases, including:

  • Physical loss, physical damage and ancillary coverages
  • Operators extra expense
  • Business interruption, loss of production, delay in start-up and loss of hire
  • Natural perils such as the Gulf of Mexico windstorm
  • Third-party liability
This entry level Underwriting Assistant vacancy, provides an excellent opportunity for a highly numerate/analytical & confidant College or University leaver to join an extremely highly regarded Lloyds Syndicate & kick start their career in the London InsuranceMarket.Have you ever considered a career in the Lloyds/London Insurance MarketLloyds is the Worlds leading insurance & reinsurance marketplace. Other clientsare small to large sized European or large Global Insurance operations.The Role:A busy & varied Underwriting Assistant position, including duties such as: entering & management of underwriting data, producing & analysing statistical data & reports for the team and compliance. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintainingrelationships with senior partners and peers across the market, which may include Lloyds and The Lloyds Market Association. Full training & support is provided.The ideal candidates will have a keen interest in starting a successful career in Underwriting or in the London Insurance market more generally, although we are keen to speak to individuals that meet the criteria below, who are keen to enter the corporatework place in a fast paced & long mid-long term well paid professional environment & industry.Highly numerate-minimum criteria of Grade B/6 at Maths GCSEGood IT skills, especially MS ExcelCommunication: Should be able to display excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with the team and with internal and external contacts.Credibility - Must have a confident and professional attitude and be able to deal with all levels.Drive: Be an efficient and effective team member and participate fully to achieve team goals.
