Job Description

HFG are currently working with a rapidly growing MGA based in the City, who are seeking an Underwriting Assistant focusing on Warranty and Indemnity Insurance for M&A Transactions, Tax Liability and Contingent Risk Insurance. The successful candidate willhave exposure to every facet of running a successful regulated financial services firm, including accounting, underwriting, compliance, legal, IT and data management.Job responsibilities:

  • Enter and maintain integrity of all data within the data capturing system.
  • Maintain and monitor the corporate file structure on the corporate server.
  • Assist the underwriters in drafting policy and associated documentation.
  • Prepare analytical data using spreadsheets - utilising both pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and international financial sanctions.
  • Provide general assistance to underwriters with administrative duties
  • Liaise with brokers on all administrative issues, including premium payments and document management.
What you will need to be successful in the position:
  • Degree preferred, or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 9 months work experience if degree educated, or minimum of 12 months work experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking and driven with a focus on providing the best possible service. Endeavours to exceed expectations.
  • Computer literate and able to demonstrate use of intermediate Excel and Word skills (ability to set up and run pivot tables in Excel, ability to run redlines in Word).
  • Demonstrates pride in delivering high quality output, and able to maintain this whilst under pressure.
  • Proactive - showing initiative when completing tasks by pre-empting issues and proposing solutions to them.
