Job Description

UK Tax Compliance ManagerContract 6 monthsHybrid London / WFHDay Rate upto £787pd dep on exp

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role in an in-house tax department is essential. Strong UK corporate tax compliance process experience is necessary
  • Experience in financial services an advantage but not essential for the role. Similarly, UK corporate tax compliance experience for banking entities an advantage
  • Experience of One-Source Corporation Tax software is essential
  • Good technical UK corporate tax skills (and able to maintain a constant, up-to-date, UK tax technical competence)
  • Good tax accounting skills (US GAAP and IFRS)
  • Experience of dealing with HMRC an advantage
  • Someone who can naturally build effective working relationships across a variety of departments
  • Ability to effectively manage the work performed by the offshore team in Business Development Centre in Pune, India
  • A self-motivated team player who can priorities and work to demanding deadlines
  • A person with strong people skills (communicative, approachable, affable, reliable, and dependable) that can work within a larger team as well as individually
  • Ability to manage external advisors
  • Outstanding communication skills and strong commercial decision making. Brings insight and effectively applies knowledge to business problems
  • Excellent attention to details and communicates with impact, in a way that is open, consistent, and clear
  • Results-oriented, hardworking individual with strong interpersonal and issue resolution skills
  • Excellent research, analytical and reasoning skills

UK Tax Compliance
  • Responsible for the accurate preparation of UK corporate tax returns, including timeliness of submission per agreed internal time-lines.
  • Preparation of other corporate tax compliance processes in the UK such as claims and elections, allocation of tax payments/repayments and closure of prior periods with HMRC are dealt with in a timely manner and ensuring accuracy of all submissions.
  • Working with other members of the London team to manage and develop the tax team overseas.
  • Working closely with the UK Tax Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of corporate tax payments to HMRC for the UK entities.
Other responsibilities
  • Protecting the firms reputation in respect of UK corporation tax compliance matters
  • Providing support to the Director of Tax Compliance and Accounting for EMEA to ensure the EMEA Tax Compliance and Accounting Function is conducted in compliance with all appropriate bank policies and legal and regulatory requirements
