UK & Ireland Sales Director - Optical CommunicationsTerritory: UK & Ireland with European & International travel when requiredIdeal home location: London/Southeast EnglandAre you a UK & Ireland Sales Director, Head of Sales, National Sales Manager or similar with 10+ years of proven commercial experience in the fibre optics or telecoms industriesAre you also a proactive sales hunter with a track record of both increasing revenue & market share year on year and developing high performing sales teamsDo you want to work for a true pioneer in the Optical Communications sector with yearly revenues exceeding £80M in the UK & Ireland alone and a rich history in providing customers with high quality integrated solutions that improve both network performanceand lower operational costsIf you said yes to the above, then this brand-new UK & Ireland Sales Director - Optical Communications role could be perfect for you!The role of UK & Ireland Sales Director - Optical Communications:

  • The UK & Ireland Sales Director will work closely with VP Sales, Carrier Networks, EMEA to align regional strategies and contribute to EMEA sales growth
  • You will help establish the regional strategy, identify key growth areas, and provide leadership on priorities that maximize profitability and growth
  • As the UK & Ireland Sales Director you will coach, mentor & inspire your team of five Key Account Managers
  • Develop and increase the market share for our clients Optical Communications Carrier Networks business with Telcos, FTTH, ISP, OSP, Telco Data Centre in the UK & Ireland
  • Lead the effort to coordinate other internal resources to succeed in achieving financials targets and growing the customer relationships
  • Ensure local sales and marketing strategies align with EMEA strategies
  • Observe and evaluate market dynamics (products, competitors, customers) and future trends
  • Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations
The requirements of the UK & Ireland Sales Director - Optical Communications:
  • 10+ years of proven Sales & Business Development experience in the fibre optics or telecoms industries
  • Direct experience of successfully leading & developing sales teams in the above sectors is key
  • You could be working for a fibre optic provider such as Furukawa, Sterilite, Prysmian or a telecoms company such as Nokia, Huawei, BT, Virgin Media or similar telecommunications provider
  • Well-founded technical knowledge of Carrier infrastructure
  • Result orientation with Entrepreneurial / Hunting attitude
  • Ideally educated in either a telecommunications or electrical engineering field
  • Experience and knowledge of the CATV / Broadband market
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport
