The RoleUK & International Equity Settlements AnalystFJR Finance is representing a highly successful, global (but mid-sized) City-based Equity focused Investment Bank to hire a permanent UK & International Equity Settlements Analyst to join their Operations division.The role is to support growth in the bank, for example their existing trading desks, as well as a brand new trading division to the bank, a global Electronic Equity trading desk.Even through difficult economic conditions due to COVID-19, our client is continuing to grow; this means that it is an excellent time to join the bank. There is a new trading desk, as well as new asset-classes being introduced such as Stock Lending. The department already has existing processes set-up, but are looking for someone that can add value and energy to look at process improvement and efficiency, plus fully support the trading desk.Our client is in need of a strong UK & International Equity Settlements Analyst who is able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Equity Settlements within UK (Crest), as well as International markets including European Domestics, Euroclear, Fast Eastern markets and US/ DTC.There is also aseparateCorporate Actions team within their Equity Operations department, so if you have the relevant and strong Equity Settlements experience andCorporate Actions, this would be highly advantageous.Summary of Main Tasks and Responsibilities Settlement of global Equities utilising Torstone Inferno, Crest and BNP Trade queries and matching with client & market counterparties Exception and fails monitoring Stock borrowing Depot movements including Cross-Border stock movements Reconciliation of stock and cash positions Client post-trade communications, development and maintenance of JIRA ticketing solution Aid workflow as required during busy periods across the Settlements team Holiday cover for other team members as required Improvement and documentation of related procedures and process flows Liaison with Front Office / Counterparties / other operational areas as required Participate in cross training within Operations Department Attend and participate in departmental meetings Abide by company internal policies Ensure any administrative tasks, within the area, are undertaken as required, in a timely and efficient manner. Flexible approach to occasionally working later evenings, weekends and bank holidays as dictated by work schedule, trading patterns and project timetables Creation, improvement, development and presentation of accurate KPIs for management utilising Power BI Escalate any issues of concern to management Such other comparable duties that may be required or requested by your line managerRegulatory Responsibilities - Maintain a high standard of conduct, ethical standards and values- Adhere to and proactively enhance the firms compliance with applicable laws, regulations and codes of conduct in all jurisdictions in which the Firm conducts business and which have an impact on its business- Work to identify risks and enhance control across the business- Report control weaknesses, illegal, suspicious or unusual activity- Maintain an appropriate level of competence through ongoing training, making requests for updates or development as requiredOther Job Specific Experience/Technical Skills/Abilities Market experience within UK & Ireland, EMEA, North America and Asia Experience in electronic trading Strong level appropriate system knowledge, specifically Torstone Inferno/ CREST GUI/ Fidessa/ Neolink/ JIRA/ Power BI Proven self-working and motivational skills Good attention to detail Excellent customer/stakeholder service ethos Excellent communication skills for both internal & external counterparties Understanding of departmental procedures Extensive Microsoft Office skills Awareness of company internal policiesSalary£40 k pa- £55 k pa (dependent upon experience), plus bonus, pension, healthcare, etc.
