Job Description

UK Head of Business DevelopmentLocation: LondonThe Bank:Operating in the UK for 60+ years from 10 offices serving retail, SME and Corporate customers. Globally the bank has over 9,400 branches, over 100 foreign offices in 21 countries across 5 continents serving over 131 million customers.The UK business is about to embark on an exciting and substantial journey of growth and transformation.Responsibilities:

  • Driving the acquisition of business through branches, direct sales and broker channels; with a focus on SME lending, including Real Estate Finance, Trade Finance and Working Capital
  • Assisting in the development of strategy for achieving business targets especially Credit growth
  • Creating cultures of sales and customer service amongst existing front line staff at branches
  • Identify, build and manage a network of brokers / introducers
  • Directly manage the development of major sales and relationship client opportunities
  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Development of the departmental One and Three year business development and marketing plan
  • Designing and ensuring the successful implementation of the departmental client relationship programme, including through the sophisticated use of client feedback
  • Keep up to date with trends and developments for the sector to identify future challenges to, and opportunities for, profitable revenue growth
  • Help keep relationship teams and other key internal stakeholders informed of key market trends, opportunities and initiatives via multiple platforms, including regular internal briefings and newsletters
  • Meet with existing / potential customers / clients face to face or over communication platforms, understand their needs and respond effectively
  • Finalise promotional strategy and activities to be undertaken by the marketing department
  • Supporting others in all matters / assignments related to business development and customer service
  • Support regulatory requirements as assigned from time to time
