LOCATION: Covent Garden, LondonSALARY: £20,541 - £22,884.60 per annum (FTE £34,235 - £38,141) (appointments are made at the bottom of the salary scale but relevant past experience is taken into account in the spinal point awarded).HOURS OF WORK: 21 hoursper week with some flexibility required regarding days and times (includes some evenings and weekends). Our reach and impact within London is far reaching, and through the supportof our Community Outreach department, extends beyond our campuses to bring City Lits teaching into the community.THE ROLE:We are looking for an experienced and imaginative Tutor Coordinator to design, coordinate and supervise courses within the Humanitiesdepartment. The successful candidate will contribute to the design of a distinctive and high quality programme, and play a key role in the promotion and success of the area.You will be responsible for promoting the Film TV and Media Studies offer and supportingtutors within the curriculum area in their teaching and professional development, ensuring quality assurance procedures are being met, and contributing to raising the profile of the department. The role will also include up to 60 hours of teaching per annumand cover teaching on occasions.The Film TV and Media Studies programme currently consists of term-long and shorter weekly courses, and day schools, delivered face to face onsite at Keeley St, and online via Zoom and Google Classroom. We are looking for anexperienced and imaginative coordinator to maintain and grow the provision in this area, including developing the programme for our new lecture theatre / screening room.Please note the programme focusses on the study and appreciation of Film, TV and Media,not practical Film / TV making.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Essential: Significant experience of providing outstanding teaching and learning within an adult learning context. The ability to strategically design a programme and curriculum. Communication skills.Effective time management and organisation skills. IT skills (with Google classroom desirable). Experience teaching Film and/or Media Studies to adult learners. Experience of online teaching (e.g via Zoom and GC). A graduate qualification relevant to the subjectareas (e.g. BA Hons). A good and broad knowledge of Film TV and Media Studies. A teaching qualification relevant to adult learning. Resilient and able to work under pressure. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others.Desirable:A post graduate qualification in Film and/or Media Studies. Experience in events organisation or management (i.e. film festivals, screening etc). Experience of coordinating a subject area.
