The Role:This is an exciting opportunity to work for a highly credible Private Bank ensuring that the firm adheres to its quality objectives and conducts a ‘best in class’ risk control framework.The Training & Competence Supervisor will have a good understanding of both advised and non advised processes when it comes to regulatory rules and best practice for private banking, investment and credit business.The Training & Competence Supervisor will follow T&C Scheme requirement and be responsible for Supervisory Activity of the front office.The Training & Competence Supervisor will keep tabs on Performance & Behavioural Risk data and manage and support Certified Role Holder activity in line with the T&C Dashboard and Risk Scorecard for the Private Bank.Work alongside the Private Bank’s Head of Relationship Management on matters related to T&C and enable cohesive cross function engagement to resolve issues as well as improving processes.It is vital that the Training & Competence Supervisor manages the Certified Role Holders workload and renumeration in an effective way and also provides correct MI for each Certified Role Holder.The Training & Competence Supervisor will attend new training courses and will be expected to train fellow employees in specific training points like regulatory and products for the Private Bank.The Training & Competence Supervisor will assist the Private Bank’s counterparties and work on additional project work, making sure deadlines are meet and tasks are completed.The Private Bank will expect the Training & Competence Supervisor to keep up to date with market and regulatory changes, deal with the companies private clients in a professional/transparent manner and escalate any Conduct Breaches within their respectivedepartment.The Candidate:At least 3-5 years’ experience within a Training & Competency role – within Private Banking, Investment Management or Financial Planning.Ideal qualifications would be - Financial Planning Certificates 1,2 and 3 or equivalent and ideally qualifications and credit framework (QCF) level 4 diploma or working towards it. CeMAP or equivalent or working towards.Previous experience with investment management strategies and markets.Suitability checking for regulated products.Track record of report writing.Influential leadership skills and the ability to influence change.Ability to work under pressure without supervision.Excellent communication skills and able to present to large groups.Logical, analytical and organised.Willingness to travel aboard for short periods of time.
