Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Vocational Trainer in Visual Arts within the Creative Industries Faculty based at Oxford College.This post provides an excellent opportunity for a practitioner/tutor or developing teacher with passion anddrive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. The post will be to support the teaching and skill development of students on our UAL Visual Arts courses across a range of levels up to and includingour Level 3/4 Foundation Diploma in Art & Design. Working side by side with teaching staff, our team of Vocational Trainers are responsible for guiding students as their build a wide bases of practical skills across a variety of Visual Arts pathways.This isa fixed term (maternity cover) part-time (18.5 hours per week) contract. What do you need to be successful in this roleSuccessful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree, preferably with a generalist Art & Design baseto support the development of a wide variety of skills within our practical Makerspaces. A strong focus in Fashion and Textiles would be particularly useful. Whilst we would prefer applications from those with teaching experience in a secondary or FE setting,we would consider applications from inexperienced trainers, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to develop skills within the teaching and learning Art & Design.In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellentorganisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate their desire and ability to workalongside the wider team to develop links with local businesses and the wider community to build and engage students in valuable work experience and project-based learning.
