Job Description

As an integral part of the UK Finance team you will need to provide financial assistance across department and ensure that various financial and accounting functions are accurately completed in a timely manner adhering to Group deadlines. Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts and business activity reports for two companies- APRIL International UK and APRIL Medibroker. Maintenance of APRIL MediBroker’s client stock list including allocating cash, posting commission statements and raising queries with various insurers.APRIL International Care UK is the UK subsidiary of a fast growing international private medical insurance company that is committed to delivering a variety of international health insurance solutions to individuals, families, students and companies from offices across Europe and Asia Pacific.APRIL Medibroker is an insurance broker specialising in international health insurance plans for people living or working abroad. The successful candidate will be energetic, proactive, organised and efficient with an ability to work alone and as part of a team.Key Tasks & ResponsibilitiesAPRIL International UK Ltd

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including Fixed assets, prepayments and accruals
  • Preparation of monthly business activity reports
  • Detailed balance sheet reconciliations
  • Various insurer reports including bank charges and claims paid
  • Monthly insurer reconciliations for premium and claims bordereaux
  • Support for monthly broker commission run process including generating statements and liaising with brokers
  • Cover all tasks of the accounts assistant including premium allocation and claims payments
  • Assist with the annual statutory audit
  • APRIL Medibroker Ltd
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including Fixed assets, prepayments and accruals
  • Preparation of monthly business activity reports
  • Detailed balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review and process Medibroker commission statements
  • Reconcile commission statements to cash receipts
  • Liaise with various insurers to resolve commission queries
  • Maintain purchase ledger
  • - Review and process invoices- Monthly payment run- Age creditor reviews- Liaise with suppliers to resolve any queries
  • Any other adhoc task that may be required by the finance department.
  • Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Attributes
  • Relevant experience in a similar role, good financial skills and preferably experience of computerised accounting system, Sage50
  • Experience in management accounts preparation, analytical reviews and budget variations
  • Good understanding of Financial Reporting Standards 101 and IFRS
  • Graduate in accountancy & finance or a similar degree (AAT Qualified also considered)
  • Active or seeking to begin CIMA / ACCA studies.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel including basic formula: sumif/countif/index
  • Experience in insurance is desirable but not essential
