If you are considering a career move into the education sector, our Trainee Lecturer in Electrical & Electronic Engineering position could be the opportunity for you!As part of the Taking Teaching Further programme, we are looking for people with excellent communication skills, drive and enthusiasm who would like to pass their knowledge and experience on to our students to ensure they receive the best possible learning experience.The Taking Teaching Further programme has been developed to attract experienced industry professionals, with expert industry knowledge and skills, to work in FE. Their understanding of the latest skills, techniques, approaches and equipment has the potential to improve student outcomes.Joining Bury College as a Trainee Lecturer in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, you will be employed for 3 days a week teaching in the classroom, whilst studying on campus for 2 days per week towards a Level 5 Certificate in Education - Lifelong Learning or Level 6 Professional Graduate Certificate in Education.The College will fund 50% of the teaching qualification cost (up to a maximum of £4,000) and the trainee programme is designed and delivered in a way that will ensure you obtain all the skills that are required to become a teacher. You will have a reduced timetable during the 3 days in college (approximately 10 hours per week) and extensive support, guidance and mentoring will be provided.Candidates should hold a degree in Engineering or a related subject and experience of working in an Engineering related role. Some experience or knowledge of classroom delivery would be desirable, but is not essential. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is an ability to meet deadlines and to inspire, motivate and engage students.This is a permanent position and, upon completion of the above qualification and your first year of employment, you will progress to the main pay band and terms of a fully qualified Lecturer.
