Job Description

Trainee Average Adjuster – International Marine Claims Specialists -Opportunities in LondonA fire breaks out on a ship carrying 8,000 containers, and spreads quickly. Salvage tugs are mobilised and the fire is eventually extinguished. The damaged ship is towed into a nearby port, but the shipowner is faced with huge disruption to their commercial operations and mounting costs. The shipowner appoints an average adjuster to assist with this major casualty.Average adjusters are all-rounders with an expert knowledge of marine law and the practice of marine insurance, as well as a practical understanding of the global shipping industry. Candidates must be robust, intellectually capable individuals with ability to deal with pressure and absorb ideas quickly. The work requires an analytical approach, accuracy and an ability to work with minimal supervision.The selected candidate will be expected to undertake further study and professional examinations with the Association of Average Adjusters.
