Job Description

This role will start with training in European markets, and the right candidate will be flexible to migrate into a rotational shift pattern of APAC or US hours as the team see fit, all from London.APAC and US coverage will require working independentlyand taking responsibility of the entire firm’s trading flow, thus making the candidate the go-to person for anything that region specific.Typical day-to-day duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitor live execution of trading algorithms and react to issues such as limit breaches, connection issues, extreme market events, trade rejections etc.
  • Load trade ideas
  • Execute FX hedge and FX rolls orders as part of our daily operational procedures.
  • Manage expiring futures contracts.
  • Manage liquidations for unwanted positions, typically arising from corporate actions.
  • Monitor market microstructure for updates or changes, such as liquidity or tax changes.
  • General housekeeping of positions to maximise efficiency (i.e., internal netting).
  • Liaise with stock loan desks to source borrow for live orders.
  • Reconciliation of trading costs (commissions, exchange fees etc).
  • Continually work with technology groups to further automate and improve all aspects of the trading infrastructure.
  • Research/implement new markets, products, trading connections, broker relationships etc.
  • Cost saving/efficiency gaining projects.

  • Highly organised and detail oriented: You will master the art of collating, tracking, prioritising, and proactively reporting on your tasks.
  • Versatile and team driven: The team functions effectively because everyone leaves their ego at the door, is willing to be flexible and do what it takes to ensure the function delivers on its mandate to the highest standards. This includes working on a rotationalshift pattern of nights or evenings.
  • Interpersonal, collaborative and an effective communicator: Youll regularly interact with stakeholders (both internal and external) and will ensure all communications (both written and verbal) are respectful, effective, and collaborative.
Skillsand Experience
  • Experience with Excel required. Programming languages are a bonus, SQL and Python are preferred.
  • Interest in global equites and desire to pursue an execution focused role. Interest in FX, Futures and other OTC derivatives are a bonus.
Academic Requirements:
  • You will need to pass the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) prior to being granted trading authority, so a Finance based undergraduate degree will help, but not essential.Aside from we would be keen to see backgrounds in ananalytical field, notnecessarily a mathematical or scientific one although we often find this to be advantageous.
