Job Description

Profile Criteria:

  1. Qualified Accountant with solid track record in Finance Business Partnering/Decision Support/FP&A
  2. Ideal for those who have worked in high-impact and visible finance business partnering and finance advisory roles to provide key MI and data to aid in senior level decision making with the Technology/I.T. space. Candidates must have experience working atstrategic level with the ability to communicate figures and analysis to form big picture storytelling.
  3. Senior level gravitas and excellent communication and influencing skills
  4. Large company experience but able to work in a hands-on manner to build their own reports and work in an end-to-end self-service manner, all the way up to providingsenior level and commercial decision support
  5. Sound understanding of how technology / IT project costs are capitalised
  6. Oracle or Hyperion experience a bonus
  7. Available immediately or on a short notice period (1-month or less)
Role Summary:The Senior Finance Business Partner will create transparency in the Technology Investments area, allowing the organisation to make smart, data-driven decisions that help optimize our technology investment portfolio, aligning with our broader strategic andfinancial objectives.Theposition requires a suitably qualified accountant who can support the Technology Investments and Finance leadership and bring appropriate rigour to the financial support and analysis.Key responsibilities include:
  • Partner with the CIO and the team to develop an overall Investments spend story (capex, opex) to better understand technology investments, project prioritisation, benefits from investments and help it make key decisions.
  • Storytellingcreate compelling insights and analysis from large data sets from Oracle and OneStream.
  • Budgetingcollaborate with key stakeholders to develop budgets that ultimately feeds into the Group budgeting process. Offer guidance and insights on budget processes, key metrics / KPIs and link between CIO and Group Finance.
  • Review, analyse andunderstandthe GlobalTechnologyinvestment spend and resource allocation on regular basis (future and historical), and provide insight and analysis to Senior Management through liaison with regional finance teams in EMEA, USA and Asia.Partner with finance and technology division colleagues for cost allocations and reporting.
  • Review and maintain a Rolling Forecast to cover the financial periods outside of the usual formal forecasting cycle.
  • Periodic review of the accounting treatment of the Technology investment portfolio for capitalisation treatment to be in line with the accounting standards. Ensure the accounting/ booking is in line with the guidance provided.
  • Represent finance at the regular Technology / CIO meetings to approve deals, review portfolio, manage CMF, etc. Financial oversight of spend process that includes regular review of proposed spend.
  • First point of contact for all requests from business teams and liaison with the relevant internal finance contacts such as financial control, regional finance teams etc
  • Review of requests in the Change Management process, that includes validating assumptions used in the change requests.
  • Continuous improvementlook for opportunities to improve processes and help transform into a lean organisation including bringing some structure to the regular forecasting and monthly review process.
  • Supporting regular and ad-hoc requests for information and analysis.
