Job Description

Your opportunityThe battle is over â€" Cloud won. But clients still have real problems getting to their hosting end state â€" can you help avoid the booby traps, and solve technical problems that stop them from migrating Cloud is firmly on the CIO/CTO agenda, with organisations adopting public cloud faster than ever before. Our established practice is helping clients on their cloud adoption journey by: •Using our experiences to provide a balanced perspective on what cloud can do for business; •Describing how to adopt cloud through synergies with in-flight works (whilst avoiding disruption); and •Providing clients with management and hands-on execution services to move workloads to cloud. The combination of our industry insights, breadth of professional services (cyber, real-estate, tax, and finance), cloud provider partnerships and technical know-how, make our proposition unique in the market. You’ll learn to leverage these multiple domains to help clients make informed decisions. Cloud technology presents exciting and disruptive opportunities for both our clients and ourselves. We are looking for people to join our team who embrace change and bring us ever greater breadth and depth of expertise. The quality of our technical skills is enhanced through your practical knowledge of implementation and our ability to learn from each other. At Deloitte, we value difference, with respect at the heart of our inclusive culture. We recognise that our people are juggling demanding careers with commitments and interests outside of work. We are open to discussing with you the different ways in which we are able to support agile working arrangements. Business Operations Want to work with the latest technologies, as part of a team helping international organisations transform their core business capabilities Whether you’re working with on-premise systems, Cloud technology, or custom-developed solutions (to name just a few), your expertise will help clients deliver continuous improvement and innovation, from initial design right through to implementation and optimisation. Your role As a Cloud Migration Technical Specialist, you will spend your time on a combination of three areas: 1.Help clients solve technical problems as part of a client engagement (typically the majority of your time); 2.Maintain our offerings/skills to stay at the leading edge of cloud innovations; and 3.Help clients understand how our cloud capabilities can deliver value Your work, your choice At Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. We carefully consider agile ways of working, both formal and informal, that allow for the best impact for our people and our clients. Please speak to your recruiter about the working pattern that works best for you. Location: UK wide. Work pattern: The role can be worked on a full-time or part-time basis. Your professional experience We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate skills and experience in some of the following: •Working knowledge of discovery and migration tooling from Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure •Migration strategy, planning or execution experience •Implementing cloud technologies and understanding the key differentiators between the public cloud providers •Operating effective hybrid onshore/offshore teams •Assessment of an organisation’s IT infrastructure landscape and development of technology architectures •IT operations and the fundamentals of effective hybrid IT Additional desirable experience includes: •Working towards certification in established cloud technologies (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) •Familiarity with industry-recognised methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, ITIL) Your service line: Consulting Our people and the way we work are the two things that set us apart in the consulting universe. For us, collaboration is fundamental to success, along with an unrivalled depth and breadth of expertise. We work closely with our clients and each other, at every stage of every project, solving our clients’ trickiest problems with a mix of knowledge, creativity and intellectual rigour. A hugely diverse range of clients rely on us to deliver the kind of change that adds genuine, lasting value to their business. Personal independence Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm. The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process.
