Role Credit Technology is focussed on delivering best in class IT solutions to the Credit Trading business where JP Morgan is a market leader. We are a team of around 300 people globally that partner closely with the quant research group and face off directly to the trading desks. Our core strength is providing technical expertise and software development skills that directly affect the ability of our business to generate revenue and remain the dominant player in the market. We are looking to hire a VP level software engineer in London to work with our Trade and Risk Management development team helping our derivative business. Athena is the strategic risk, pricing, and trade management platform created at JP Morgan and is designed to enable rapid innovation. It is a Python based platform that offers Technologists, Quantitative Analysts and Risk Managers a cross-asset portfolio of models, frameworks and tools to use in building financial applications The role will combine all aspects of product owner from product and program management to establishing operating model, working with a team of experienced technologists. It requires an expertise in communication, clearing program blockers, and managing demand, resourcing and deliveries for the project. The successful candidate must be comfortable in working in a high pressure, challenging role while owning delivery, execution and user engagement. Key Responsibilities • Lead the vision, strategy, design and execution of derivatives migration for Credit Business and adoption of the best in class technology platform • Build the product roadmap, provide an end to end solution, gain efficiencies by bringing cross-functional teams together, continuously refine and communicate effectively to clear any blockers • Drive the delivery and execution as the product SME with an overall view of demand, resourcing, project and deliveries • Establish operating model, own end to end user relationship and provide complete transparency to all stakeholders. Liaise with senior stakeholders from trading, operations and product control for prioritisation and planning and help to drive alignment where required. • Manage the inter dependencies between the strategic execution and regulatory book of work for Securities & Derivatives. • Traverse global teams in EMEA, NA and ASIA with strong business understanding. • Interpret regulations and audit action points, communicate impact and define work required to facilitate as part of the strategic vision. Skills profile • High quality project management discipline • Creative, quick-thinking, pragmatic, with an aptitude for solving problems and an ability to quickly translate demands into sound technical requirements. • Proven organisational skills, decisive priority management, strong teamwork ethic, excellent verbal & written communication skills. Knowledge/Experience • The ideal candidate will likely be qualified to degree level in Computer Science, Maths or related science discipline • Credit SME or SME for another complex asset class • At least 10 years of experience with Technology project / program management in a Front Office capacity • Experience managing programs requiring collaboration across various teams and stakeholders • Experience in delivery and execution of regulatory programs with strict timelines • Experience with tracking risk and dependencies, managing decision log, monitoring issues and investing time in retrospectives • Experience of creating UAT test plans, managing test cycles and creating run books for major deliverables. • Experience of clearing, compressions, book creations and regulatory or industry initiatives such as MIFID, BREXIT or SOFR. • Curiosity to learn the Credit business and products.
