Job Description

About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen in our EMEA Finance team for a Technical Financial Controller. Working in a department of 40 supporting the EMEA region of FTI Consulting, this is a key leadership role is the EMEA Finance organisation. You will be an established Financial Controller, with approximately 10 years experience, in a mid to large global organization, ideally listed, handling technical accounting issues, spearheading compliance across a multi-jurisdictional environment and leading a team of accountants to design, implement and maintain and internal control environment to deliver timely and accurate financial statements and to protect the assets of the company. You will be well versed in US GAAP, or IFRS, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) with a detailed understanding of the internal and external requirements of a regional finance organisation. This role reports to the EMEA Region Finance Director and will be charged with creating a centre of accounting, and technical, excellence that can be leveraged globally, outside of the immediate EMEA wide remit. The role will collaborate with leaders across the EMEA Finance organisation; Segment Finance Controller, Payroll, Shared Services, Billing and Cash Management, Tax and Financial Planning & Analysis. What Youll DoLeadership and management of a team of senior management accountants and more junior accountants, in all internal and external financial compliance requirements. Go-to person for all technical guidance on EMEA accounting issues; which primarily centre on ASC 606 revenue recognition, complex senior compensation arrangements including retentive instruments and ASC 842 lease accounting. Ownership of all SEC accounting disclosures relating to the EMEA region, partnering with the group external reporting and technical teams to ensure all deliverables are met timely and accurately. Coordination with US based group accounting function on purchase accounting entries. Lead for EMEA wide SOX controls; oversee the design, implementation and effectiveness of the controls. Ensure that all SOX requirements are met through continuous review process and ownership of periodic SOX testing by the group internal audit function. Leadership of the ASC 842 Lease accounting process covering all EMEA Real Estate agreements, which covers both in-scope and out-of-scope lease arrangements. Ownership of the accounting process for the Corporate Segment covering SG&A expense related to EMEA Chairmans office, Finance, HR, Legal, IT, Marketing. Management of all US GAAP audit procedures and requirements (concerning EMEA), for group wide KPMG audit. Management of all external statutory audits across the EMEA geography. Direct the audit strategy and actively manage the audit teams to deliver timely statutory audits. Ownership of the production of the annual LLP member profit statements. Lead the team in ensuring a timely submission of all regulatory filings VAT, PSA, EC Sales, ONS. Partner with the EMEA segment financial controller, regional segment teams, and practitioners, to ensure the financial impact of business decisions and actions are accurately reported in FTI financial statements. Driving a client service mindset across the EMEA finance team responsive to the needs of group accounting, segment teams and internal clients. Day-to-day review and approval of cash payments (within the FTI bank accounts) across all EMEA entities.Deep understanding of FTI segment business. Responsible for coaching, development and appraisals of technical finance team members. Build capabilities through development of people, process and systems to identify areas of inefficiency and opportunities for improvement within finance processes and make positive changes where possible. Work with the EMEA Finance Director to maintain and improve areas of focus from the annual Employee Engagement Survey.
