Technical Architect- Trading Platform Development

Job Description

The role:

• Platform Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to define the architectural vision and design principles for the trading platform. Translate business requirements into technical solutions and establish an architecture that aligns with industry best practicesand standards.
• Quantitative Development Expertise: Apply your extensive knowledge of quantitative finance, algorithmic trading, and risk management to design and develop robust and efficient trading algorithms. Ensure that the platform supports advanced modeling, backtesting,and statistical analysis capabilities.
• Technology Selection: Evaluate and select the appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for the trading platform. Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in trading technology to ensure the platform remains competitive and innovative.
• Scalability and Performance: Architect the platform to handle large volumes of data, high-frequency trading, and complex calculations. Optimize the system for low-latency execution, real-time market data processing, and high availability.
• System Integration: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to integrate the trading platform with various market data providers, execution venues, clearinghouses, and risk management systems. Ensure seamless connectivity and data integrityacross multiple systems.
• Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures and protocols to protect sensitive trading data, including encryption, authentication, and access controls. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as MiFID II, GDPR, or SECregulations.
• Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of developers, ensuring adherence to architectural standards, coding best practices, and quality assurance processes. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture that promotes learningand growth.
• Documentation and Communication: Create clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design specifications, and user manuals. Effectively communicate technical concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technicalstakeholders.

Key Skills and Experience:To succeed in this role you will need:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Extensive experience working as a Technical Architect or similar role in the financial industry, preferably in the context of building trading platforms.
• Strong background in quantitative finance and algorithmic trading, with a deep understanding of trading strategies, market microstructure, and risk management.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, along with experience in relevant frameworks and libraries for quantitative analysis.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance distributed systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
• Familiarity with market data feeds, trading protocols (e.g., FIX), and order management systems (OMS) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring and guiding a technical team.
