Job Description

Technical Architect Experis are recruiting a Technical Architect for a central government client to play a key role within their 3rd Line Information, Facilities & Service Development (IFSD) team. This successful contractor will work closely with the Head of Service Operationsand provide direct support to the wider Information Services (IS) team to deliver a consistently high level of serviceResponsibilities

  • Be a Technical Subject matter Expert for all Infrastructure related issues
  • Provide technical liaison between the technical support group and the user community
  • Undertake technical design authority work
  • Looking for opportunities for continuous improvements of the current infrastructure
  • Attend technical briefings and meetings if required
  • Assist with the technical project life cycle
  • Assist with the technical recommendation for the purchasing of new infrastructure equipment
  • Talk to suppliers if a technical issue arise
  • Support any project teams with technical advice during a rollout of any new technical project
  • Provide help and support to the Head of Service Operations
  • Follow ITIL best practice
  • Be able to provide technical support at a 3rd line-level for both Server and software
  • Coordinating and managing the implementation of any new technologies that the ORR want to use
  • Provide help and assistance in technical project planning and specification
Essential Criteria
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems, particularly Windows 10; and Server, SQL, MS365 and Azure
  • Experience in setting up user hardware with standard images
  • Experience in deploying new software applications and working with Remote Assistance tools to support staff
  • Excellent communication skills, providing a continuously high level of personal engagement with staff
  • Ability to quickly identify when problems are emerging and escalating to management
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and deal with conflicting demands from stakeholders
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal customers and external suppliers
  • ITIL v3 Foundation
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow incident logging system
