Job Title: Technical AccountantJob Type: PermanentLocation: LondonOpportunity Overview: A fantastic opportunity has become available to join a UK leading specialty insurance and reinsurance company, Aspen, as a Technical Accountant.Role Objective: To support accounting activities within the UK Finance team, ensuring that the accuracy, currency and consistency of underlying data in the entity trial balances appropriately facilitates the production of financial reporting/analyses, maintainingcontrols over the TB production, preparing reports on financial performance and ensuring that management and leadership teams are kept informed about financial performance/risks.Key Responsibilities:* Contributes to, monitors, and advises on the plan variances andimplications to ensure relevancy, compliance and optimal delivery of business results.* Assists in the preparation and implementation of the operational team plans to ensure these are in line with wider business strategy and reflect key priorities.* Determines own work priorities and activities in line withagreed plans to ensure the achievement of the functionsobjectives.* Supports the implementation of the Finance strategy to enable delivery of overall business targets.* Adheres to Finance standards, policies, procedures, instructions, and good practice to operate controls, minimise risk and maximise efficiency.* Compliance with Service Level Agreements* Establishes, strengthens, and develops relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues to support their needs, maximise influence, and achieve business objectives.* Responds to internal and external stakeholder requests in accordance with service standards.* Demonstrates an understanding and awareness of market dynamics and market cycle to enhance business performance.Requirements:* Knowledge of the market the company operates in and London MarketOperations (Lloyds, IUA, LPSO, LPC etc).* Strong understanding of Aspens business objectives and how own role/team contributes to these.* Sound working knowledge of gross and ceded premium, claims, expenses,investments and FX processing and documentation.* Relevant A levels and degree level education* Financial services experience, specifically within the insurance sector* Attainment of a relevant accounting qualification (such as such as AAT, ACCA,in the UK)Dont hesitate and apply now!
