Job Description

Team Manager - In Care Team - Norfolk County Council. This is a full time temporary role (37 hours per week) lasting for a minimum of 3 months. The office base for this role is Priory House in Kings Lynn PE30 1EB however hybrid working is in place withremote collaboration via MS Teams. About the role/team: To lead and manage a targeted youth support team to deliver high quality practice in which interventions are young person centred, community based, and achieve positive short and long term outcomes forthe young people and families supported. Provide professional expertise regarding working with adolescents at risk of extra familial harm (including those who go missing) to practitioners within TYS and relevant internal and external partners. Work in partnershipwith key stakeholders (including young people and communities) to plan and deliver contextual safeguarding approaches for individuals and groups of young people. To ensure all casework is effectively carried out to the required statutory, professional, andservice standards, and that relevant performance targets are achieved, particularly those relating to the safety of and outcomes for children and the strengthening of families. To be accountable for ensuring the highest professional standards and professionalconduct. Provide regular, responsive high quality reflective supervision to targeted youth support service staff. To create an environment where practice knowledge and expertise is shared to maximise opportunities for children and families. To create a cultureof focused, curious and critical thinking which consistently explores a range of contexts and hypothesis which make sense of the complexity in which children and families are living. To support practitioners to always communicate clearly, honestly and respectfullyensuring that practice and approaches are proportionate to the identified risk and need. Encouraging and advocating, to support children and young people to thrive and enjoy their childhood and move into independence with confidence and ambition for theirfutures.Experience Required: A minimum of three years post qualifying experience of, monitoring and developing the quality of youth work/social care/youth justice practice. Experience of direct working with vulnerable adolescents. Demonstrable experience ofpeople management, including recruitment and selection, performance management, supervision and staff motivation.Essential Requirements: Eligible to work in the UK. Hold a full UK licence (preferable).
