Job Description

Introduction:The Professional Fundraiser is the leading private site fundraising agency in the UK, operating on behalf of some of the UKs most recognisable charities, including The Royal British Legion, NSPCC, Cats Protection and the PDSA to name a few.We have an exciting opportunity for professional and talented sales managers across the country, with either face-to-face fundraising or face-to-face sales leadership experience. You will be joining the business at a crucial time as we begin to restructureour field operation.As the first line of sales leadership for a small team of up to 8 dispersed and remote fundraisers/ambassadors you will take a hands-on approach, responsible for the selection and field training of new fundraisers in a defined geographical area, continuouslyworking with and coaching your team, driving results to deliver on all supporter acquisition targets, fundraising standards, and quality KPIs.As the frontline of both ours, and our charity partners brands, you and your team will ensure the highest standards of fundraising excellence, and your leadership style will be one of inspiration.   • Ownership of a team of up to 8 fundraisers with responsibility for driving results and ensuring delivery of stretched targets and KPIs across multiple charity campaigns, in line with our face-to-face acquisition strategy.
  • Identify local fundraiser recruitment opportunities, nurturing the growth and development of your team.
  • Interview and selection of new fundraisers in keeping with our company values and recruitment processes.
  • Field training of new fundraisers joining your team, and their continuous coaching and development.
  • Monitor KPIs across your team, evaluating and appropriately tackling any issues of underperformance.
  • Be the first point of contact and manage your teams performance, upon receipt of any feedback, mystery shop, or complaint.
  • Monitor and maintain continuously high standards of fundraising compliance and best practice, not limited to the fundraising regulator code of conduct, gambling commission and GDPR regulation.
  • Provide and deliver regular and effective feedback to your team, through both informal one-to-ones and formal performance appraisals.
  • Identify and provide feedback from your field team to shape and inform future campaign strategy.
  • Create an inclusive and one-team culture, owning the welfare of your team, and ensuring that The Professional Fundraiser is an organisation free of bullying, harassment and discrimination of any kind.
  • Keep fundraises and supporters safe by ensuring compliance to all health and safety, safeguarding, and managing vulnerability policies and best practice.
  • Politely and professionally communicate with all other personnel and stakeholders, internal and external to the business.
  • Collaborate with others, developing relationships that supports our business to operate in the most effective way, and to deliver on behalf of our charity partners.
About You:Our Team Manager role is essential to ensure that our team of roving fundraisers are supported and performing to the best of their ability, and as such youll be a natural leader with the proven ability to performance manage a team of fundraiser/sales individualsand inspire them to achieve their best on behalf of our charity partners.Essential criteria
  • Proven track record of managing and leading a face-to-face fundraising or direct sales team.
  • Demonstratable experience of achieving outstanding sales performance, including quality indicators.
  • An understanding in either private site, event, or door-to-door fundraising/sales.
  • The ability to demonstrate effective leadership and management practices.
  • A responsible and professional approach, taking seriously codes of conduct and fundraising legislation.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with an assertive, friendly, polite, professional manner.
  • Highly motivated with a positive proactive approach and a "can-do" attitude.
  • A self-starter determined and resilient, who can lead, energise, and inspire a team to success.
  • An ability to travel to fundraise and to support your team.
Desirable
  • Experience within face-to-face recruitment, people resourcing and team development.
  • Knowledge associated with fundraising compliance and data legislation.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience of interpreting data and compiling reports.
Salary and Benefits:
  • £25,000 basic salary, with OTE £55,000 per annum.
  • 30 days annual holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) increasing to 35 days upon length of service.
