An exciting opportunity has arisen for a team leader to join a garden maintenance and landscaping firm in central London. The client has over 25 years’ experience in landscape design and construction of London gardens, and a team of highly skilled and motivated landscapers and gardeners who work to a high standard.With a high demand for our client’s services, a team leader is required. He / She will work with one other colleague; take full responsibility of a van and tools and lead the decision-making process on what needs doing with each gardening maintenance visit. As a Team Leader and a professional gardener, you will be hands-on and knowledgeable in all areas of gardening and experienced in leading a small team.Each morning, the day will start at 7.15 am with a meeting at head office and the van will be ready for leaving the unit by 7.30am. The position is Monday to Friday and hours are flexible based on season demand. The team leader will have a professional approach in all dealings with the client and whilst on their property. He / She will demonstrate the ability to prioritise and problem solve when required to be cost and time effective. Attention to detail is really important in all aspects of the job.The successful candidate will be responsible to train and develop their team to produce the best results; guide and support team members to ensure that jobs are completed as per quote within the allotted timescale and with 100% customer satisfaction. Other responsibilities include ensuring a safe working practice is undertaken; daily cleaning of shared tool handles with anti-bacterial wipes and ensuring that the team respect all tool and equipment including the van and treat it as their own.Applicants will have a proven record of professional gardening and maintaining grounds to a high standard including mowing, weeding, strimming and hedge cutting. Good general plant knowledge on trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and weed identification is a requirement. He / She will be good at working towards deadlines, have a high attention to detail and have effective and respectful communication skills with other members of the team, the public and clients. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, physically fit and enjoy working in all weathers.
