  • The successful post holder will assist and deputise for the lead radiographer in leading the radiotherapy team in treatment and pre-treatment.

  • Take responsibility for efficient, accurate and patient-focussed treatment preparation and delivery, including accurate documentation in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Support with deciding the appropriate course of action in highly complex clinical care scenarios.
  • Maintain effective liaison with relevant multi-disciplinary staff to ensure the provision of a high quality service and a smooth and efficient work flow through the department.
  • Assist and deputise for the Lead Radiographer in leading the treatment and pre-treatment teams in the provision of the clinical service.
  • Assist with ensuring high levels of training and competency for staff, including maintenance of accurate records.
  • Ensure routine quality assurance procedures are carried out and all equipment faults and malfunctions are recorded and reported in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining an effective quality assurance programme for policies and procedures, reporting of errors, and risk and audit management.
Skills & Experience
  • BSc in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Extensive radiotherapy experience
  • Awareness of national cancer agenda
  • Wide range of professional expertise, gained on a variety of equipment and including up to date techniques
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electronic patient management systems and record and verify systems
