Job Description

Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Balham
  • Position: Teaching Assistant
  • Start date: January
  • Pay: £1800 - £2200 per month
Veritas are working with an OFSTED outstanding school situated in Balham, South London, that are looking for a teaching assistant to start in a long term position come January. They are a Catholic school with wonderful pupils, living out the schools MissionStatement on a daily basis, showing courtesy, respect and care for one another while showing real enthusiasm for learning. They bring laughter, love and joy with integrity and kindness in all they do. Through creative support and teaching approaches and abroad curriculum, they develop critical thinking across the range of subject areas, challenging children to excellence, whilst at the same time honing positive attitudes and behaviours.As a Teaching Assistant in Year 4, you will be an integral part of the dedicated team, supporting the class teacher in creating an engaging and positive learning environment. In this inclusive class,you will also support a child with SEN. Your responsibilitieswill encompass:
  • Collaborating on lesson preparations and classroom activities.
  • Offering individualized support to all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
  • Cultivating a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom.
  • Working closely with the teacher to monitor and assess student progress.
Requirements for a Teaching Assistant:
  • Genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative mindset, ready to contribute to a harmonious team environment.
  • While previous school experience is beneficial, it is not a mandatory requirement.
