Job Description

Play SupervisorSouthwark BoroughPart time (20 hours per week)ASAP StartAn Outstanding Special Needs School in Southwark is recruiting several play supervisors to start ASAP for the remainder of the academic year and into September 2022.This position is part time, working hours are 10am - 2pm, Monday to Friday.The school is located across 2 sites, catering for 200 pupils aged 5-19 years old, with EHCPs for ASD and Aspergers Syndrome. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills. The schoolis in a state-of-the-art building, offering a wealth of resources to both students and pupils.Job Details:

  • Supporting children and young adults with Autism, Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties
  • Lead and organise games and activities for the children during break and lunch time.
  • Most of your time will be spent in the playground.
  • Help children and young adults with their social interaction
  • Have a calm and positive demeanour with a sense of humour
  • Previous experience with Autism and complex needs is desirable
  • Knowledge of PECs and Makaton would be advantageous but is not essential
  • You must be willing to complete personal care (Feeding and Toileting)
  • Available to part time - 20 hours per week
