The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.Job DescriptionCatch22 PPP is lookingfor a Science Teacher able to teach other subjects to work with our students and help them develop and grow in their studies. As part of the role, you will be providing support for our students where learning gaps exist with the overall aim of supporting ourlearners to develop their knowledge and skills and help them access appropriate training and employment opportunities.We provide full-time, alternative, secondary education for young people, aged between 13 and 17, who present with additional to complex needsin West London.You will be supported by our Curriculum and Learning Lead who is responsible for leading the team to drive up quality, reaching and exceeding KPIs and promoting an ethos of continuous improvement. As a Teacher, your main accountabilities willinclude: Being responsible for planning and teaching Science and an additional subject Preparing and developing innovative lesson plans, designing and delivering group activities Delivering training to individual young people and groups following the programmecurriculum, setting objectives and targets for achievement Providing one to one support to learners Working with team members to ensure learners achieve their targets and progress into appropriate outcomes Providing encouragement, guidance and support to learnersto help them progress Managing any behaviour issues that arise Preparing and submitting up to date assessments of learners Monitoring and maintaining appropriate paperwork and records of progress Establishing, developing and maintaining effective working relationshipswith other external organisations involved with the service and learner Scheduling and planning individual 1:1 sessions for your students Providing teaching that is appropriate for the individuals needs and study level Prepare students for exams or testsrequired for acceptance to education or training opportunities Assessing any barriers to students study progress Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks youre providing subject tuition/teaching inQualificationsTobe successful as a Teacher, you will need considerable experience working with disaffected young people. In addition, we are looking for: A relevant teaching qualification (or evidence/desire of working towards a qualification) Maths and English qualifications,at Level 2 or above (or equivalent) The ability to embed functional English, Maths and ICT throughout the curriculum, from Entry Level to Level 2 as well as the teaching of GCSE English and/or Maths. Experience of working with young people, their familiesand communities, including those who are from a variety of ethnic groups and cultures or who may be vulnerable or disadvantaged in some way.
