The CLA is the membership organisation for owners of land, property and businesses in rural England and Wales. The Association’s in-house professional advisory team offers members independent and impartial advice on every aspect of their landownership. CLA advisors also lobby very actively at national and regional levels to ensure the interests of members are considered all the way through the policy-making process.The organisation is currently seeking a high-calibre candidate with comprehensive knowledge of the UK tax system to assist in advising members on tax issues in England and Wales, in particular on Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax.The ideal candidate will be a UK qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser or HMRC Officer either with existing capital tax knowledge, or a strong basis of UK tax knowledge on which to build their knowledge of relevant tax issues. They will have a keen interest in keeping updated on the key issues affecting rural land managers and businesses.The successful candidate will have the chance to gain solid in-house experience within a professional but relaxed client-facing environment, dealing with a diverse and interesting workload.
