Job Description

As a Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Senior Manager at our well known, global client, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive tax advice, managing tax compliance, and mitigating tax-related risks for a broad portfolio of clients across FTSElisted groups and Fortune 500 clients. You will work closely with a diverse team of professionals, including tax experts, accountants, and risk advisors, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet clients tax obligations while minimizing potential liabilities.With your expertise in tax accounting and risk management, you will contribute to the growth and success of the firm.Responsibilities:

  1. Client Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business objectives, and providing valuable tax accounting and risk advisory services.
    • Collaborate with clients to identify and analyse their tax risks, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
    • Offer proactive tax planning strategies to optimise their tax positions and identify opportunities for tax savings.
  2. Tax Compliance and Reporting:
    • Oversee and manage the preparation, review, and submission of complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
    • Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, including tax provision calculations and financial statement disclosures.
    • Provide guidance on tax accounting matters, including tax positions, uncertain tax positions, and valuation allowances.
  3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential tax exposures and advise clients on mitigating strategies.
    • Develop and implement tax risk management frameworks, policies, and controls for clients to minimize tax-related risks.
    • Stay updated on tax legislation and emerging trends, assessing their impact on clients tax positions and advising accordingly.
  4. Team Leadership and Mentoring:
    • Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster their professional growth.
    • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring the teams workload is balanced and deadlines are met.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and identify development opportunities for team members.
  5. Business Development:
    • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new client opportunities and participating in client presentations and proposals.
    • Stay engaged with industry associations, conferences, and events to expand professional networks and promote the firms tax services.
    • Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide integrated solutions to clients and enhance overall service offerings.
Qualifications:
  • At least seven years of professional tax experience
  • CTA or ACA qualified with at least seven years of professional tax experience
  • Extensive experience in tax accounting, compliance, and risk management, preferably within a Big 4 or large professional services firm.
  • Excellent client management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Business development skills and the ability to identify and pursue new client opportunities.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
