The main duties of the post are related to PHEs response to the COVID-19 incident and will work within the incident response as part of the International Cell. This cell comprises the International Epidemiology team (Int Epi), the Travel Health risk assessment team and the UK International Health Regulations National Focal Point (IHRNFP). This role is one of a team of Scientists working within the International Cell and will have responsibility for a) gathering international epidemiology and intelligence to inform the Incident Management Team (IMT) and other parts of government (Int Epi role), b) informing travel risk assessment and advice provided by National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC) and cross government (Travel risk assessment team) and c) for international contact tracing, gathering information on key response measures and liaison and communication with various stakeholders under the IHR (2005) requirements (UK IHR NFP role).
