Targeted Youth Justice WorkerHavering £22/hr Start date: ASAPAkton Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for an experienced Targeted Youth Justice Worker in the Havering area. The role is ideal for those who are looking for a long-term contract. Previous experience is required forthis role. Flexible working hours are required - will be discussed if successful at the interview stage. Job Context:1. The post holder reports to either a Youth Justice Senior Practitioner or the Reparation and Restorative Justice Coordinator2. The post holder has no line management responsibility but may offer supervision and support to volunteers engaged in group work delivery and reparation.3. The post holder will be required to work evening and weekend sessions as demanded by the nature of the role up to 36 hours per week. This is likely to be at least 3 late afternoon sessions a week and rota-ed Saturday sessions.4. The post holder has no responsibility for managing a budget and recording expenditure.Experience and knowledge:* Experience of supporting vulnerable children and young people from a variety of backgrounds and with complex needs, and being an advocate for them.* Knowledge of how to engage young people as individuals as well as within their peer networks and contexts.* You will have the confidence to work with risk that occurs outside of the home e.g. exploitation, substance misuse, missing episodes, peer associations, difficulties in education.* You will understand teenage brain development, the impact of childhood trauma and how this may present for young people.* You will understand and have experience of risk management and best practice wit regards to interventions to reduce risk and build social inclusion and capital. * You will have compassion and commitment to helping young people and their families change their lives for the better.* Effective written and verbal communication skills.* Demonstrative experience of working to and applying safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures Qualifications:A relevant qualification to Diploma level or equivalent, or above (e.g. Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology or Youth Justice)
