By ensuring timely deployment in a cost-effective and sustainable process, he/ she will work with software development teams to provide applicationsolutions to business problems as well as capitalize on new technological advancements. The Systems Architects mission is to continuously search for ways to improve FISs catalog of products and services, with focus on creating and maintaining stable, reliablesystems for our clients and partners. What you will be doing:Define and own systems architecture (applications and data technologies) utilizing on premise infrastructure, cloud environment, enterprise standards, best practices, and reference architecture.

• Define, create and maintain Logical, Technical and Physical views of platforms, including documentation and diagrams
• Work closely with Software Development Teams on architectural definition for a feature or project
• Ensure transparency of requirements and address these requirements during architecture definition; make sure these are realized during product engineering development and deployment
• Define reusable components, frameworks, common schemas, standards, and tools to be used across platforms
• Review application designs to make sure its aligned with the systems architecture
• Work with teams to ensure that Non-Functional Requirements are considered during all phases of SDLC
• Consult internal product engineering owners, product teams, enterprise architecture and customers (internal as well as external) on technology choices and feasibility evaluation
• Help program and project management in identifying key technical risks and mitigation plans, effort estimation and planning

What you will need:

• Experience in defining and realizing Service Oriented Architectures, payments platform experience
• Experience in designing applications and platforms
• Experience with cloud-based services like caching, databases, search, etc.
• Excellent design and architecture skills - ability to understand software design for time-critical, large-scale systems, for both traditional and microservices
• Java and AWS (or other cloud) development experience
• Experience in using microservices, PaaS and container platforms
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery
• Proficient in creating documentation (architecture blueprints, design specifications)
• Strong experience in at least one RDBMS
• Interpersonal skills - ability to collaborate with teams and participate in design meetings
• Presentation skills - ability to articulate design in meetings and experience with putting together visual artifacts
• Have in-depth understanding of core IT infrastructure concepts: data centers, security, networking, storage, compute, and software applications

Added bonus if you have:

• Familiarity with agile development practice (SAFe is a plus)
• Background in the Payment Card Industry preferred
