A leading annuity provider is hiring an accomplished Systems Developer to support the development and maintenance of actuarial systems, as well as the tools and models utilised by the Actuarial Department. The successful applicant will also be responsiblefor assisting in the implementation of the approved business requirements, which are critical in sustaining and delivering regulatory requirements, reinsurance structures, new products, management information and external reporting requirements.This role sits in a high-performing Engineering team and will constitute a mixture of BAU and project-based work. You will report to the Senior Actuary and collaborate to bolster the Actuarial Department by improving systems, process enhancement and theimplementation of a robust control framework.Responsibilities: Propel conventional platform (Mo.net, SQL, VB.Net) based model development work according with BAU or Investment programme priorities. Contribute to governance requirements through testing and documentation to ensure compliance within a Development framework, TAS and APS X2. Constant improvement of the efficiency of the teams processes and controls. Production, checking and prospective and retrospective review of model runs, as requested by the Actuarial Reporting team. Troubleshoot problems that arise during model runs. Liaise with the Systems team and Reporting team in order to resolve issues with actuarial systems.Skills & Experience: Fully qualified or part-qualified member of the IFoA progressing well with exams. Achieved a First Class or Upper Second Class degree in a numerate or financial subject. Prior actuarial employment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Are proficient-highly proficient at Excel.
