Syndicate Actuary (15 month Fixed Term Contract)Job Market - Actuarial / General Insurance Syndicate Actuary - About the roleA qualified actuary required to produce and provide expert review of regular reserving and SII Technical Provisions across a selection of existing syndicates/divisions, which currently includes Casualty, Political Risks and Credit, Treaty (Property, Casualty and Specialist), Cyber and Nuclear.Syndicate Actuary - Key dutiesRunning quarterly reserve reviews for managed syndicates, this will include the provision and review of both year of account, Solvency II figures and annually accounted figures on a regular basis, and the ongoing improvement of the appropriate models. The individual will be the primary reviewer and will have to validate and communicate all key assumptions, results and uncertainties to key actuarial and underwriting individuals when presenting estimates as well as highlighting areas for improvement.Maintenance, enhancement and documentation of appropriate controls and checks for actuarial processes.Leading the reviewing and enhancement of long-term group forecasting projections on a quarterly basis.Syndicate Actuary - Key requirementsFellow of Institute or Faculty of Actuaries (we may consider exceptional candidates who are near qualification)General insurance experienceLloyds experienceWe are open to considering flexible working arrangements for all roles and encourage you to outline your needs during the interview process.
