Job Description

Job Purpose

  • A Senior Syndicate Accountant is required to work for a large Insurance client on a 12 month FTC based in London/ Remotely.
  • The role holder will be responsible for financial reporting for the clients Lloyds Syndicate s2001, managing agency and the related capital providerYour responsibilities will include:
  • IFRS (and Lloyds UK GAAP) reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
  • Adherence to local and group wide reporting timetables and Group reporting standards;
  • Operating effective financial processes and controls over reporting;
  • Assist, where required, the Syndicate Financial Reporting Manager in the supervision of the syndicate accounting team to fulfil the above responsibilities;
  • Ensure that all tasks are performed within the documented processes and procedures and propose process changes where necessary. Responsible for keeping the process and procedure manuals up-to-date;
  • Engage and support the Syndicate Financial Reporting Manager and the clients Controller in specific finance projects;
  • The key outputs that make this a pivotal role are:
  • Quality and timely CODA General Ledger and HFM Submissions on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
  • Insight and understanding of information you are responsible for preparing, demonstrated in presentation and review with senior stakeholders;
  • Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations where you are responsible are completed on a timely basis, reviewed and signed-off;
  • All relevant financial control processes and quality checks to ensure accurate date is produced. This will include review of all manual journal adjustments, including technical intercompany transactions and associated reconciliations;
  • Drive specific change initiatives ensuring fit for purpose solutions are delivered on a timely basis.
  • Key Result Areas.
  • Financial Reporting: Production of financial information ensuring that data produced remains relevant, is subject to proper analysis, explanation and control and always reflects the activities of the organisation. The role-holder will provide interpretation of the data in order to aid executive decision making and will present information to an auditable standard supported by informed commentaries in an efficient manner and on a timely basis.
  • Projects and ad-hoc requests: Production of answers and resolutions to requests from key finance stakeholders. Projects will centre on the clients continuous aim to improve the standard of its financial reporting in terms of quality and speed of delivery.
  • Quality assurance: Continuous review of all financial and operational outputs, ensuring that adequate controls and processes are employed, assumptions and reviews are documented and procedures are up-to-date and relevant
  • Stakeholder management: With customers and suppliers related to the syndicate financial reporting process. This network of relationships will require close management.
